the giver

The new person is charlie! Charlie is a tall boy who has blonde hair and is pretty skinny. He does not talk very much and he tells on everything we do. We don't know who he tells but we always get in trouble because of him and he is kind of weird. Every kid is not allowed to be at at 10:00 or longer or else you get in trouble but unless you're charlie you be up as late as you want. He usually goes around sometimes at 10:00 with a flashlight and he knocks on your window saying time for bed. sometimes I think that he's a robot to keep everybody safe.


But one day he came to school looking more tired than ever and he didn't talk once I even think he was crying. At first i didn't mind him until recess when he pulled me behind a bush and then he told me "don't trust anyone but the giver and find him he can solve everything that is going wrong in your life '' and then i ran away from him in a weird way like he was crazy. I don't want to talk to him for the rest of the day because I thought it would be too awkward . The next day I came to school and everybody was talking about charlie I didn't want to listen but I heard someone say he ran away. MY heart dropped in the bottom of my stomach and it skipped a beat I thought that he was definitely crazy because no one has ever done that before. And that is all when I thought I had to go find the person he was talking about, The GIver. I Think that if I found him I could find charlie and save him. But that would include that i would have to sneak out and break the rules but since charlie is not here he won’t be checking my door if i am asleep.


So I set off to find the giver and save charlie. So at about midnight I opened everybody's door just a crack and everybody was asleep except the baby so I tried to calm him down before he woke anybody up but the baby let out the loudest yell ever and mom came running down the stairs and i hid under the crib and when mom settled down the baby I dashed out the door as fast as a bullet. And I hopped on my bike and a went to every house to see if the light was on because I heard he always has his light on even at night. Until I notice the biggest house I have ever seen in my life as i walked in the door to the house i saw an old bearded grey haired person sitting in the chair next to the book shelf and he turned around. It freaked me out because I thought he would be asleep and tired but he was wide awake almost like he was expecting me to be there. And he said words I will never forget in my whole life "It is time to start your training.
