The setting of the giver is very boring ,there’s no color, very strict rules, and no decisions are allowed to be made by you. You don’t really feel like a human when your here nothing really happens here. This effects the story because it let’s Jonas feel like the rest of his community never sees what he can see and that desterbs him very much. Also the setting allows Jonas to see how beautiful this world is, like with the vast mayoralty of colour. Jonas was amazed at what colours he saw. Jonas loves his world when it has colour in it. You may not enjoy it with all the rules and stuff, but some people have to leave vet that way. Like Jonas and his family did

Oliver fits perfectly in this setting because,he does not mind the rules or what colour is it. He just plays or does what he wants on his free time. Oliver will have too love the setting when he sees colour. He'll probably want to smell every flower or just look at a building and be amazed at it's colour. Right now Oliver will have to make do with what he got, a lot of imagination. When no one is feeling up too play, Oliver always finds something too do, like watch people ride their bikes up and down the street, I don't know why but he always thinks they're racing each other. Or Oliver would pretend his dwelling is a spaceship being attacked by aliens! Oliver fits in the setting just right when he uses his imagination and runs wild with it.

The setting fits precisely in the story it gives something the reader can think about, and it tells that you never have to think of life like it is or how it once was, you can just make the best out of it. The Giver is weird and crazy, but I just love it.
