The Lightning Thief Setting
The setting that I am doing is Camp Half-Blood. Camp half blood is a camp where Demigods or half blood go to be safe from monsters. There is a portal out of the Camp that when monsters or any mortal look in, they see a regular strawberry farm. The camp has a variety of activities such as wrestling rings to archery. There are several rooms for each and every person. Room 11, lives all the half-blood or undetermined kids where Percy used to stay at. Rooms, 1, 2, and 3 were for the gods but none of the gods live there since they are always so busy.
There is a cafeteria where they eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Once they start eating, there is a fire in the middle where everyone has to slide a chunk of their food into the fire and say who it is for. The reason they do so is because the gods love the smell of the food in the fire. The bathrooms are the place where everyone doesn’t care one bit about it. In every corner of the bathroom grew mildew. The stinkiest, blackest, thickest mildew you could ever see in your whole entire life. The bathroom floor is tile, therefore, every crack in the tile is black covered in dust.
How would it effect the story and character you may ask? Well, it affects them both since Percy is a troubled kid that lives in New York, finds out he is half Blood and was sent there from his mother and his father. Camp Half-blood is the only place on earth that is safe from monsters. If Percy Jackson was not half-blood, then this story wouldn’t be about how he can fight for monsters and what not. It would be just a normal kid having fun outside not knowing there really is monsters. And that's how it would affect the story and character.
